Tim Ries

★ Hi there! My name is Tim Ries and I founded Tourist New York in 2019 and have worked in the hospitality & tourism industry in New York City for the nearly 20 years. My boutique company offers engaging, informative, and fun in-person professional tour experiences of NYC attractions, landmarks, points of interest, historic sites, and neighborhoods.

★ Before this, I served as the Director of Park Services at the popular High Line. I've presented at The New York Times Travel Show and Canada's Garden Tourism Conference. As a NYC-licensed sightseeing guide, I've led thousands of tours and am also a member of the the Guides Association of New York City. 

★ I was graduated from The City College of New York, with honors, holding a degree in Anthropology. Additionally, I am pursuing a master's in business administration.

★ I am passionate about tour guiding and sharing everything from landmarks & historic districts to skyscrapers & cutting-edge architecture; from new, notable, & top-ranked restaurants to world-class museums, and amazing green spaces. When I'm not working, I'm exploring the city with my wife and son. I live in southeast Brooklyn.
