We are always excited to see our members out there making a splash. So here is a roundup of successes from some of our members:
-Tommy Silk has just released his new book: Hidden Landmarks of New York: A Tour of the City's Most Overlooked Buildings. In this book, he uncovers 120 of the city’s oldest, most unique, and often relatively unknown landmarks and the hidden history behind them. We can't wait to read it!
-Kevin Draper is doing a talk at The New York Historical tomorrow night: "The Second Toughest Job in the World: A History of New York City Mayors, 1700-1950". The event is sold out, but a livestream will be available. Info here: https://www.nyhistory.org/programs/second-toughest-job-history-of-new-york-city-mayors-1700-1950?date=2024-10-30
-Micaela Fagan and Jane August were featured in Vogue magazine about their recent event, FranCon. The fourth annual event celebrated all things Fran Lebowitz.
-George Tonkin, a former NPS ranger, is doing a free illustrated history lecture on Wednesday November 13 at 7:30pm: "The Battle of Harlem Heights". It will be at the New Utrecht Reformed Church Parish House (18th Ave & 84th St, in southern Brooklyn). Info: HERE.
Congratulations to all, and we thank all our 350+ members for helping represent our great city!
